FLOW THE FILM!!
check out www.flowthefilm.com for the trailer....not flow the movie...that's about surfing!
school's in session!
Just a rambling moment in my busy day of teaching....I love what I am doing! I love connecting with students who are learning new things. It is a rewarding and exhausting profession, something I've dreamed of doing since I was 18. Right now students are learning to knit, to make batiks, to make amazing things in clay (like HUGE hidden coil pots). I hear over and over that this is their favorite class, that it makes their day to come to class.
Now, all that being said, I still lose my patience, and regret that I didn't have more patience on reserve for this or that student when they came to me with a question....mostly because I've gone over the same material many times! I think, why are they not tuned in to the time I'm telling their neighbor the same thing? My conclusion is they weren't ready to hear the information at the time...the learning comes when they NEED the information and ask for it. Granted, I'm teaching 'procedural memory' skills...that build on top of each other...and you need to learn one step before learning the next...
still....paying passive attention to what's going on around you is a good skill...
I hear that Flow, the Movie is a one to watch. 175 students from school just saw it today at Cinema 21. Gotta put it on netflix!
